Today I took lil' man out shoppin' with me at this outlet mall Kaya found. Since we moved out I have no clothes. I bought a fly velour outfit for Kaya, a denim Phat Pharm outfit for me, some Sean Jean t-shirts, and some clothes for the baby.
Kaya went out and got her hair done. I gave her some money and tol' her to pamper herself up good. She works a few crazy shifts this weekend so she deserves a little tlc. When she comes home I may just rub her feet a little bit. And no, I don't want anything. It's all about my baby. ;-)

Can't wait until the fam comes up! Just a few more days, I'm hoping to try and talk Moms into stayin' she's always talkin' about how she misses Atlanta. Plus, she already has fam down here so it should be easy. |

Words cannot express how thankful I am to have such a wonderful, respectful, beautiful, intelligent woman to call my own. I messed up, and she took me back. Gave birth to my beautiful baby boy. Takes care of the house. Puts up with my bull. And still manages to do her thing. Boo, I love you and you never cease to amaze me. I can't wait until we spend the rest of our lives together, for real.
You got a brotha wanting to get down on one knee. No, I'm not internet proposing, I already proposed. I'm the luckiest man in the world, and I sincerly mean that.

The one thang my moms told me when Kaya got pregnant, was the lack of time she and I would spend together. Dam, she was right. When Kaya's not workin', I'm workin'. And when we're both off at the same time which is kinda rare, we don't have much time to spend alone.
So with that said, I'm hopin' that I can get a babysitter to watch lil man sometime next weekend so that I can take my wifey out on the town. Since we moved down to the Atl, we haven't even been out to any where but maybe a few fast food joints. I only want something classy and elegant for my number one girl, some fancy resteraunt some where that serves lobster and champaign by the case. And maybe dancin'? I don't know but I'm gonna make it happen. Cause she deserves a night off the way she be bustin' her ass around here. |

What's good up in here? I have plans today to spend the whole day with little man. Kaya goes to work late tonight, so I thought I'd take the baby to this little park near our apartment. I could use some damn air any way, I got the day off today and tommorrow to.
Tommorrow the three of us are gonna just chill maybe hit the mall a little bit. I need some new shoes like y'all wouldn't believe. My sneaks right now are so damn beat up. And I would wear my Tims but shit, it so damn hot out here I would just sweat my skinny black ass off. Plus that would just make me look hella dumb.
My moms is plannin' to come pay us a visit some time soon. No word on when that will be or if B will be wit her, but it should be a nice little trip for her. She hasn't been out here since she was young. My moms is from the Atl for those of you who don't know.
Well I'm about to bounce, got to get the baby ready for his day out with his daddy. I'll holla. |

I deleted all the other journal entries cause right now, that shit don't mean anythin. The past is gon stay where it should stay IN THE PAST.
Allow me to update you on the life of Derek. My girl and I moved to Atlanta, Georgia after a very brief fall out. Kaya knows that mistakes happen, and I know if I ever make a mistake like that happen again that'll be it. But yo, I know better. I'm learning every day with the help of her and my son, my new found responsibility, on how to be a man.
It's all good baby.
My job is good. The hours are flexible enough so I can spend time with little man and Kaya. The pay is straight. Our apartment that we're at right now is small but chill. Cozey even. Enough room for us and the baby. The baby is doin' good, he's actually quiet through most of the night, and when little man does cry we both take turns getting out of bed to check on him.
My little boy changed my life for real. He is my life. I'll never be one of those dead beat dads like they have on tv. Hell nah. |
